Welding Inspector/Senior Welding Inspector

Our Client, requires 16 welding inspectors (4 of which will be senior positions) for an onshore/offshore project in Malaysia.

- Candidates must have experience in inspection of flow lines, risers and pipes used in offshore oil and gas projects

- All candidates must have experience of inspecting work on double-jointed constructions.

Welding Inspectors x of these positions will be onshore on a residential basis, the others will be rotational positions on lay barges.

- Candidates must have a recognized qualification (Cswip 3.1, PCN, Cofrend, ASNT or equivalent) in basic NDT techniques and welding inspection;

For offshore positions candidates must already be in possession of offshore survival certification.


Senior Welding Inspectors x positions will be onshore with some offshore trips required.

Responsibilities will include:
- Organise the Inspection operations defined under the approved inspection plan; ensures or requests the necessary means for proper implementation
- Follow up / Supervise/report the Inspection operations performed onshore and offshore, whether under the approved inspection plan or justified by an ad-hoc intervention.
- Ensure that facilities are fit for service and comply with the relevant regulation, company rules, technical codes and standard

Qualifications
- Recognized qualification (Cswip 3.2, PCN, Cofrend, ASNT or equivalent) in basic NDT techniques and welding inspection; Good knowledge of metallurgy, and of corrosion/welding, and of Marine Certification requirements
- BSC or equivalent with minimum 10 years experience of inspection operational activities in oil and gas industries, including 3 years in supervisory position

Candidates must already be in possession of offshore survival certification.
