Senior Mechanical Technician

Position: Senior Mechanical Technician
Location: Das Island Based (CWS) – Contract Hire

Duties Performed:

• Uses a variety of hand tools and measuring devices, such as chisels, scrappers, hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, micrometers, etc. Performs skilled maintenance work on a variety of plant and equipment mainly in Central workshops but also on site. Such work includes maintenance and overhaul of single stage and multi stage centrifugal pumps, steam turbines, compressors, fans, blowers, gear boxes, valves, overhead cranes, etc.

• Operate and maintains the hydro-drill used for cleaning hard deposits from the bores f exchanger tubes.

• Operate and maintains high pressure water jetting equipment used for clearing blocked tubes and exchangers and removing heavy deposits on machinery.

• Liaises with Plant Inspection on matters related to the inspection of completed work.

• Ensures that good housekeeping practices are followed in all areas in which subordinates are required to work.

• Carries out other similar or related duties as required, such as recording man hours worked, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

• Completion of Technical Secondary Education (12 years) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

• Five years experience as a Senior Mechanical Technician in the Oil Refinery or Gas Industry including workshop.

• Good knowledge of spoken and written English.

Remuneration Package:

• Salary is negotiable.

• 90 days of work and 30 days off.
