Position : Design Draughtsman Mechanical

Scope of Duties:

• Designs, develops and prepares from original sketches, piping layouts, major equipment layouts, structural layout and site dimensions.

• Produces final fabrication and erection drawings, including bills of material and includes manual piping stress analysis if required. On completion/commissioning, does final “As Built” checks on site.

• Uses computer CAD system or manual draughting to draw up detailed drawings of various features based on design calculations and details prepared either by himself or concerned Development Engineer. This will include P&I diagrams, instrument hook-up drawings, site plans, piping layouts, isometrics, civil and construction drawings, electrical schematic and wiring diagrams, update and prepare “As-Built” dwg., etc.

• Liaises with the Development Engineers and other Divisions on draughting work requirements, to clarify and obtain information, and clarifies extent of work required.

• Prepares the bills of materials related to drawings as required according to acceptable engineering standards.

• Checks drawings produced by other Design Draughtsmen, and ensures that the quality of work produced is acceptable and in conformity with the Company’s standards, codes and practices, and that they are logical and functional.

• Carries out surveying, site measurements, layout and routing of new pipelines, equipments, structures, and pipe supports.

• Carries out other similar or related duties assigned such as assisting in training developees, preparing charts and reports.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 8 years experience in Mechanical/Structural with Gas/oil industry. Candidates should have a thorough working knowledge in designing / updating of PIDS / Piping Layouts / Major Equipment Layouts / Structural Layouts / Isometrics / Civil Structural Detail Drawings, utilizing AutoCAD and GTXRaster software. Also required is a working knowledge in Mechanical/Equipment tagging system to identify and/or differentiate various types of line numbering and Equipment tags. Candidate should be familiar with relevant codes, standards and industry practices, AEIMS database update and SAP Production module, and ability to work in a team orientated environment.


Remuneration Package:

• Salary is negotiable.
• 5 days working on Das Island 2 days off in Abu Dhabi + 38 days Annual leave
