RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for the corporate actuarial function including reserving, individual risk pricing, corporate planning and special projects.
- Perform Loss, ALAE and ULAE Projections Analyze trends and diagnostics Frequency study Management summary reports interface with consulting actuaries for audit requirements and independent studies.
- Price individual accounts using historical loss data, exposure data, underwriting information, loss control reports Prepare standard and paid loss retrospective plans for individual accounts.
- Help maintain the pricing template with new trends, loss development factors, benefit adjustments, etc.
- Help maintain the retrospective rating plan template with new advisory plan factors, etc. Interface with underwriters and sales people on issues with individual accounts.
- Develop manual rates using advisory pure premium and expense loading Trend analysis Expense analysis Rate adequacy study Profit and Contingencies analysis Industry comparison and Competitor study Strategic planning Rate filing Other related rating plans Related model building Interface with the Rating Bureau for current events and studies.
- Underwriting/Systems Support - Assist verification of rating algorithm in the systems Assist establishing underwriting schedules/plans.
- Statutory Reporting - Special Schedule P filing MD & A preparation.
- Related Accounting/Finance Function - Reconciliation of Actuarial data to General Ledger Provide annual accrual of loss reserves.
- Provide payout patterns by layer for cashflow model Discount loss reserves Calculate projected retro premiums.



QUALIFICATIONS:

- B.S. in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Business.
- 1 -3 years of experience, preferably some in Workers’ Compensation.
- 1 -5 CAS exams in credit.
