RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide assistance to clients for all lines of business including pricing, reserving, financial forecasting, product development, profit and loss analysis, analysis of risk arrangements, developing rates, rating plans, pricing strategies, estimates for required reserve levels, and valuations.
- Understand/communicate complex actuarial issues.
- Stay informed of and apply professional standards and firm policies e.g., Actuarial Standards of Practice.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client management.
- Focus on deliverables and prioritize. Manage expectations of service.
- Successfully manage to the budget. Stay informed of general business/economic developments and their impact to the client.
- Develop people. Effectively delegate work.
- Contribute to on-the-job feedback/training and conduct performance reviews.
- Coach junior staff in the pursuit of actuarial examinations/credentials.
- Foster teamwork and innovative thinking.
- Commit to developing knowledge. Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.
- Respect/protect client information. Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills.
- Assist in generating new business opportunities.
- Understand the Organizations service lines and actively assess/present opportunities for the firm to bring value to clients.
- Develop long-term relationships and networks.


QUALIFICATIONS:

- An undergraduate or graduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics and/or other related major.
- Professional membership with the Casualty Actuarial Society US, Institute of Actuaries UK or similar internationally recognized actuarial society.
- A minimum of five 5 years of experience working in a senior actuarial-oriented position focused on the property and casualty insurance/reinsurance industry.
- A minimum of three 3 years of reserving experience.
- Excellent writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, as overtime and travel will be required.
