ASSISTANT PLANT ENTOMOLOGY OFFICER
Salary Scale : C3 Old : B$1735.00 - $1980.00 per month
Period : 3 years 36 months or until project completed contract

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:-
Higher National Diploma HND in Agricultural Science with specialization in
Crop Science or Biologica/Plant Science or other equivalent qualification will
also be considered.
Higher qualification, on the above fields are preferred.

Priority will be given to applicant having experiences as below :-
Good knowledge and experience in tropical crop’s insect pest especially in
entomological laboratory work on identification, curation, collection and
monitoring
Working experience under Tropical condition/countries in crop’s pest
management and control
Have knowledge on pesticide usage

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in taxanomic works on prevention & curation, identification and
collection and control of plant pest.
Assist in conducting research works, data collections of field and laboratory
experiments related to plant pest control and management.
Assist in updating and upgrading of insect collection and insect taxanomic
work and database development in Plant Pest Laboratory, Crop Protection
Unit.
Assist in providing pest advisory services and recommendation of control
and management techniques for the farming community.
Assist in implementing Integrated Pest Management Programme on major
crops
Assist in upgrading the services, equipments and facilities of the laboratory.
Conduct field visit for monitoring, collecting pest specimens and provide
advisory services on pest control.
Preparing reports, leaflets and documentation of Plant Pest data and
information database for references.
Other task assigned by Senior Officers in the Department

Successful candidates will be appointed initially on a term contract basis.
Renewal will be subject mutual agreement.
Appointment will be immediate for successful candidates.
