RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting to the Pricing Manager, Actuarial Services, the Pricing Leader works with colleagues and staff to ensure the timely completion and analyses of various reports, including impact and dislocation analyses, tracking and monitoring reports, rate indications and rate filings for a given regions.
- Primary actuarial contact for other departments regarding pricing information and analyses for a given regions.
- Works closely with other departments to review and propose product and pricing changes for a given regions.
- Oversees and helps with the preparation of pricing and rate analyses and data collection from both internal and external information sources.
- Oversees the scheduling and production of rate filings to be submitted to various regulating bodies, including the support of any follow up questions.
- Oversees and directs ad hoc requests for rating and coverage profiles through interdepartmental requests.
- Recommends and implements enhancements to ratemaking processes.
- Provides leader ship and guidance, technical instruction and ongoing feedback to direct reports regarding performance, productivity, work quality, personal conduct and adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional, friendly and courteous in all interactions, whether with customers or co-workers.
- Perform well in a busy operation and remain calm under pressure.
- Team player adaptable to a changing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- University Degree in Actuarial Science or a relevant discipline.
- Must have successfully completed a minimum of 4 exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
- Must have at least four years of relevant full-time pricing experience.
- Must have good project management skills such as communication and organizational skills and an ability to promote and supervise a team effort toward the project completion.
- Must possess strong programming and design skills, including in depth knowledge of SAS and Microsoft applications Excel, Access, etc..
