Team Leader - Project Development & Monitoring Team


Responsibilities of the Team Leader:

· To lead, manage and develop the Project Development and Management Team.
· To coordinate the annual planning and reporting process ensuring project documentation is received from all TLM projects in the South Asian region.
· To assess new projects and support new project development.
· To liase, negotiate & coordinate funding & project information between field projects, TLM National Councils & funding agencies.
· To develop and maintain the TLM International Programme Management database for South Asia.
· To take part in the budget process and manage the development of the yearly programme budget and Small Funding Projects list.
· To work as part of the TLM South Asia Finance and Programmes team on the design and operation of the organisation’s planning and budgeting processes.
· To oversee, support and coordinate the allocation of funding from TLM Councils and external donors and to facilitate the communication of project information to TLM National Council staff.

Knowledge / Skills:

· Have an understanding of development issues.
· Demonstrated skills in cross-cultural communication.
· Demonstrated skills in leadership and management with a strong finance and administrative background.
· Strong people skills with ability to supervise and motivate professional staff at field and National Council level.
· Mature understanding of project development, design and implementation.
· Able to take the initiative, originate action and make decisions; and be responsible for the decisions made.
· Good representational and negotiation skills.
· Ability to identify project funding opportunities.
· Aware of the criteria of foreign donors from different National Council countries.
· Exceptional report writing and communication skills with an eye for the detail.

Experience:

· Minimum 3 years of significant experience of project management and administration in international development field.
· Strong experience of managing human and financial resources.
· Experience of advocacy and partnership and their relation to international development work.
· Experience of fundraising and working with donors.
· Monitoring and evaluation of outcomes of project plans.
· Previous experience of government/donor funding applications would be an advantage.

Personal Qualities:

· A committed Christian in full sympathy with the objectives of The Leprosy Mission and able to work in an inter-denominational environment.
· Participative and collaborative working approach.
· Ability to undertake frequent travel.
· Ability to take decisions and work in complex and challenging environments.

Qualification:

· Masters in Social Work or Management or Social Sciences from a reputed institution or university in India or overseas.
