Production Manager/Director - Dehradun,UT

Background
An opportunity exists for an experienced Production Director to join our operations. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the growth and success of a new, fast growth company working in a unique, world first Cricket technology system.
Reporting directly to the Management Committee, this is a senior appointment for which the company is seeking an appropriately qualified individual able to take full charge of establishing and then driving the company’s manufacturing function. Applicants should be able to demonstrate appropriate experience in textiles and/or electronics manufacturing management and a no-compromise approach to total product quality and production efficiency.
General
• Based in Dehradun, Uttranchal
• Manufacturing of Textiles based products and Electronics
• Responsible for all areas of Production, including:
o Factory Fit-Out and floor preparation.
o Factory financial management and Staffing
o Supply chain management
o Production management
o Quality control
o Stock management
o Dispatch and logistics
o Integration of new technologies and production techniques into production
o Management Reporting
• Management of technology transfer to production
• Supervision of technical elements of production and quality control tests & procedures
Specific
1. Production Preparation
• Preparation and Management of production processes the timely commencement of production according to miSport’s product launch programme
• Sourcing and negotiation of Indian and offshore supply chain
• Stock management
• Implementation of quality controls and procedures for technical components as defined by the Head of R&D
• Support of, and at times co-ordination of, production level integration testing
• Recruitment of appropriately skilled staff, management of employment contracts

2. Production Management
• Accountability for reaching production capacity within agreed time-frames
• Accountability for production quality to ISO9002 standards
• Stock and materials management
• Aggressively reduce production costs and wastage.
• Investigation with component suppliers, and other potential suppliers world-wide in exploring possible technology innovations or production efficiencies.
• Research of alternative/novel production methods, particularly adaption from other industrial purposes
• Fast transfer of prototypes to production ready models
• Documentation of product methodologies
• Staff training and general personal management, including shift scheduling.
• General management of the overall production facility.

3. Commercial Management of Suppliers
In conjunction with the Head of R&D, the Production Director, will be expected to engage and manage 3rd parties to contribute components, Technology, IP or consultancy to further improve product function, reliability and cost. This includes:
• With support from the Head of R&D source, negotiate and manage supplier component warranties
• Establishing clear development guidelines, specifications
• Project Management of deliverables
• Management of Day to day working relationship.
• Negotiation of supplier terms and conditions
Essential Experience/Qualifications
• At least 5 years experience managing textiles manufacturing
• Direct management of large scale sewing & Quilting functions
• Willingness to take ‘hands-on’ approach
• Fluent written and spoken English and Hindi
• Experience in supply chain management: with demonstrable ability to manage supplier agreements
• Experience in establishing production procedures and quality assurance controls
Remuneration / Package
The remuneration package will be dependent on experience: but will be a combination of a highly attractive base salary and exceptional benefits/bonus.
