We are a Mumbai based subsidiary of British Publishing company engaged in a niche areas of Technical Editing, Indexing,Marketing and Production of Technical titles for global IT industry.

In House author Job Description
• Follow the Packt editorial guidelines and processes.
• Work with Development Editors (DEs) on developing book ideas

and outlines for book ideas

• Undertake any research and learning required to write about the

chosen topic of the book.

• Write chapters to the agreed book outline and to the deadlines

agreed with the DE and Project Manager (PM).

• Revise drafts as required by feedback from the DE, Assistant

Development Editor (ADE), and Technical Reviewers (TRs).

• Finalize content and work with production staff and the ADE on

preparing the content for publication.

• Write books independently, co-author books, and rewrite,

improve, and update content written by other authors.

• Conduct research to develop book ideas.

• Write all content needed by editorial to publish the book, such

as the back cover text, and content that may be needed for

marketing the book, such as online marketing information.

• Write articles for promoting their own books.

• Provide support for their own books, including answering

relevant reader’s questions and managing errata.

The Ideal Packt Contributor
Very good written English.

Excellent writing skills.

Good technical background, including good knowledge of the LAMP platform (Linux/PHP/MySQL/Apache), the Java platform, or the Microsoft platform, including knowledge of ASP.NET.

Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Proven track record of researching and writing independently.

Ability to work to tight deadlines.

Previous book writing experiences is not required
