Senior Electrical Engineer

Qualifications: Ideal candidates shall have a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and preferably chartered engineer status. The candidate should have a minimum of 8 years postgraduate experience in design, specification, installation and commissioning of Electrical low voltage facilities related to the Oil & Gas, Refinery and/or Petrochemical Industries. The candidate should possess an up-to-date knowledge of Industry and International Codes and Standards. This is a senior position and you must be used to working in a multidiscipline project team environment. The work will include responding to construction queries and undertaking detailed design and assistance to procurement work.


Job Description: The candidate should have an ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and strong communication and presentation skills including fluent written and spoken English. The job will be based in Dubai and will involve the development of equipment specifications and material requisitions for switchboards, generators, motors, UPS systems and other required electrical equipment. The candidate shall provide input to the project execution schedule, review suppliers' quotations, complete bid evaluations and recommend the final technically acceptable Supplier. The candidate shall hold co-ordination and engineering review meetings with suppliers of major equipment as required to manage the successful delivery of the required packages to schedule and budget. The candidate shall liaise with other discipline groups and the Client as necessary and with the Engineering Manager on matters of project co-ordination and programme, plant safety and work scope that could constitute a contract change.
