Senior Piping Engineer

PURPOSE & SCOPE
• Meeting project requirements for piping engineering activities.
• Responsible for ensuring the quality of drawings, documents and other engineering output under their control.
• Review project documents/drawings for own work scope received from Client.
• Review requirements of own work scope.
• Prepare input for document/drawing register.
• Report discipline progress to PEM, normally via Lead Discipline Engineer (LDE).
• Quality of output, including self-checking of deliverables, i.e. specifications, reports etc., drawings, MTO’s etc.
• Review IDC documents/drawings, and vendor drawings.
• Produce data sheets, calculations, specifications, purchase requisitions, bid evaluations etc.
• Produce site survey check-lists and reports, and carry out surveys.
• Liaise with Drafting Coordinator for detailed drawing preparation etc.
• Works within Departmental and Project Procedures and to recognized Engineering Standards.
• Ensure preparation of as-built drawings.
• Prepare technical input for enquiries, as directed by HOD.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
8 years directly relevant work experience in Oil and Gas piping, of which at least 7 years in offshore piping.

Experience in plot plan, equipment layout, piping layout, pipe supports. Preparation of specifications.
Knowledge in materials requisition & bid evaluation
Experience in stress analysis
Computer capability. Knowledge of PDS.
Knowledge of International Codes and Standards like ASME/ANSI/API/ BS/SHELL DEP.
